Frances Dominica was trained as a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children, and at the Middlesex Hospital, both in London.

In 1966 she joined the Society of All Saints, an Anglican Religious Community, and she took her life vows.

She is the Founder of Helen House, the world's first Children's Hospice, which opened in 1982 in Oxford.

In 2003, she founded Douglas House a "respice" (a mixture of respite and hospice) for young people.

She was the Chair of both institutions since the beginning, and she helped the development not only of an adequate end of life care for children with life-shortening conditions, as well as professional training to the staff.

She was given honorific Master and Doctoral titles by several important British universities.

She has a large list of publications on pediatric palliative care and children bereavement.

She will speak on her experience concerning the children’s hospice in Oxford, England: "Helen House: 25 years of pediatric palliative care".
